A group of Cyberspace Pirates make a daring escape from a souls-like video game, after retrieving their stolen ‘Oui Remote’ from a band of monstrous NPCs.

This animatic was created in Blender 4.1 using ActionBoards, my own custom storyboarding add-on. It was created to demonstrate the advantages of hybrid 3D storyboarding in Blender. I 3D modelled all the 3D assets in the animatic myself, while also designing all the characters, props, and locations.

The segment shown in this animatic was taken from a 20-page TV episode treatment, I wrote for my cyberpunk action-adventure series Cyberspace Pirates.

Newlyweds Amelia and Jim Dandy are on an exhibition to the Antarctic in search of a mysterious temple Jim’s late Father wrote about in his journal.

This storyboard was created in Blender 3.5 using a custom storyboarding add-on / pipeline that I created myself. I also modeled all of the 3D assets.

Excerpt from a section I storyboarded for the 11th episode of Total Drama Island (2023)

In this sequence the campers need to take selfies with wiled animals in order to rack up points to win their weekly challenge.

All backgrounds for Total Drama Island were designed prior to the storyboarding stage to maximize asset reuse. It was also critically important to keep characters on module, due to the stylized nature of the show.

I was also responsible for creating my own guide track, as this episode had rewrites late in production.

Storyboard made in Blender using a personally coded add-on, for streamlining 2D and 3D reproduction.

This is a sequence taken from a treatment for a sequel to my graphic novel “Chicken Man and the Attack of the Vegetable People”.

Chicken Man shows up in an attempt to stop The Fantastic Turd and his Bunions (bread minions) from stealing an experimental weapon called the particle disperse-u-lator!

A sample from “Big Mouth” one of the late season episodes I storyboarded.

Near the end of production shot choices became a lot more limited as all live action photography had finished, however a CGI fish tank was created. Board artists were given freedom to explore more compositions within this environment.

Sample from the Lucas The Spider episode “Big Jumping Spider”. It was one of my earlier boards and the episode was included in the shows premier on Cartoonito.

At this stage in production most BG were drawn by hand with select live action plates needed for re-use in some scenes.

All Lucas the Spider Storyboards were made using Storyboard Pro.

Here is a sample from one of my later Lucas The Spider storyboards. From the Episode “Arlo’s Portrait”.

At this stage in production CGI sets began to be used, replacing the live action plates (Though some re-use shots were required).

Here is a list of the other released episodes I Storyboard: “The Big Squeak“, “I Can’t See You“, “Something Up There“, and “Dollhouse Mates“.

This animatic is part of the climax from my 2019 Sheridan Capstone Film “Cyberspace Pirates”.

At this point in the story Alice and her Pirate Crew are caught robbing a pawn shop, when Cero (a super-cop) arrives at the scene of the crime!

This animatic was created using Photoshop and Premiere Pro, with Blender for 3D pre-vis shots.

An early character exploration board for the Stop-motion Short FilmThe Curious Tale of Aunt Binks”.

In this version Aunt Binks is helping little Beanie look all throughout town, in the hopes to find her missing sister, Abby! In this particular venture they have a quick run in at the ole retirement home.
